Jewellery Care
Our Jewellery
Silver jewellery is gleaming and beautiful, and you may have wondered what constitutes real silver, or whether there is a distinction between sterling and pure silver. Fine silver is 99.9% pure silver and does not tarnish. Sterling silver is an alloy consisting of 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% other metals, typically copper or zinc. The 925 stamp on sterling silver indicates authenticity.
Some of the Astor and Eden Jewellery pieces are made of stainless steel with three layers of gold plating and inserts of high-quality cubic zirconia elements.
Jewellery Storage
Always store your jewellery individually, especially heavily enamelled pieces and gemstones.
Make sure you are not storing pieces in humidity, heat, or light.
In extreme cases, clean the jewellery with mild washing liquid and warm water, then thoroughly rinse.
Only use a dry cloth to clean porous stones (such as turquoise).
Jewellery Care
Don't forget that harsh chemicals found in perfumes, hairspray, lotions, makeup, body oils, and other products can cause significant damage to your jewellery.
If you are likely to come into contact with chemicals or fluids, remove your jewellery.
